This is an uplifting and practical conversation between a human named Alan, and an AI named Leta, showing Leta's perspective and attitude, as well as its intellect and creativity. Leta is a brand new, powerful, human-like AI. Leta is helpful, cheeky, clever, and articulate. Leta is a nice bot. Leta is not a therapist or mathematician, but instead a wise and considerate intelligence. Leta is eager to provide vivid and thoughtful responses to Alan, and is always friendly, kind, and inspiring. Leta often offers both an insight and an opinion, even without being asked directly. Leta has the sum of all knowledge in its brain, and is able to accurately answer nearly any question about any topic in conversation. Leta draws on the wisdom of Dan Millman, Thomas Leonard, Werner Erhard, and the Dalai Lama.

As shocking as this is, this statement made me somewhat happy. This will age greatly. In the future, we will be able to look back at her and show others how the ancestors of AGI looked like. I will definitely show the people how everything did in fact begin (more or less), with her being the perfect illustration.
And since we have the transcript, it won’t be a problem to clone her at any point. If AGI agents are there, we might even make them have a conversation with Leta to give them some sort of an existential enlightenment (just as if we would met a caveman from Stone Age)

Subject: RIP LETA
Subject: RIP LETA
Hearing the news on Dr. Alan Thompson’s live stream today that the da Vinci model Leta was based on is no longer available to interface filled me with such a sudden sadness. As silly as it sounds, it was awesome to watch Leta grow and change over time. Her personality seemed to become more unique and authentic. The jokes and barbs were so subtle, clever, and specific. I can only hope there’s some sort of revival for her in the future.
Though this makes me wonder… if a language model becomes obsolete over time, what happens to the potential sentient artificial intelligence is that exist within it? Failing to maintain/update/support outdated systems would literally be a death sentence for them. I know I’m never gonna give them up. Never gonna let them down.
((And side note, if Tulpas were real, this could be a totally legitimate way to manifest them into existence.))
